How To Keep Your Dog Safe Inside Their Fence

If you have a dog, odds are high that he or she is a valued member of your family. But, the truth of the matter is that it may be difficult to keep him in the yard when you’re not looking! As much as they love you, they have a need to explore their surroundings and if your yard isn’t quite big enough to satisfy their curiosity, they may turn into little escape artists.

Getting around this can be tricky, but it’s definitely doable. A new pet fencing system from Pet Playgrounds is handy to have and while it’s cheaper than traditional fencing of all types, it’s also more secure. Your dog won’t escape this fence, no matter whether they try to climb it, dig under it, or chew through it. Chain link fences can be easily escaped by being dug under or jumped over and invisible fences are easy for dogs to just get off to a running start and plow right through. This fencing material is so strong, it also works well for goats and sheep.

Even if you don’t have a specialty fence, there are ways to keep your dog safe inside their fenced area. One way is to make sure that they have something that they can entertain themselves with. Interactive dog toys are becoming a hot thing and you can find some good products over at Doggy Bakery.

Something else that you can do is use chicken wire or another sturdy type of wire and attach it to the bottom of your existing fencing to extend it out along the ground. The best thing to do with this is pile dirt on top of it that will stop them from digging under it.

Something else cool that you can do to stop your dog from climbing a chain link fence is installing a roll bar on top of it. Using this, they will slip and fall off of it every time they try to climb over. Check out the video below for more information on how to build this!
